With the current disappointment of Capcom not willing to bring Street Fighter IV to Nintendo’s Wii, despite people constantly asking for such a project to happen, it seems that the company is not completely ignoring the Nintendo fighting faithful as it is set to bring a new arcade beat em-up exclusively to Wii.
Previously it was reported that the arcade version of Tatsunoko vs Capcom: Cross Generation would be coming on a Wii-compatible motherboard, with that comment stemming from the Japanese website for the arcade fighter. Now, Japanese gaming Bible ‘Famitsu Magazine’ has revealed that Capcom will indeed be bringing its fighting cross-over project with anime company Tatsunoko to Nintendo’s Wii console, exclusively.
Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Cross Generation of Heroes, to give it its full title, is a special cross-over beat em-up like the Marvel vs. Capcom games from the past, which consists of numerous Capcom characters battling against characters from Japanese animation studios Tatsunoko, the people behind the original Speed Racer cartoon and the fantastic Samurai Pizza Cats! More details on the company can be found on its Wikipedia page.
The Wii version of the game will include bonus exclusive mini-games, but it has not yet been explained how the control system will work on Wii, or if motion sensing will be used at all. The characters confirmed for the arcade edition so far include:
- Chun Li
- Hurricane Polymar
- Gold Lightan
Tatsunoko vs. Capcom will be exclusively hitting Nintendo’s Wii console

The game’s official website is already live due to the arcade version being planned for a release later this year, and word on the street is that Capcom USA is strongly considering actually bringing this over to the US market!
