Modern Warfare 2 Leaderboard Reset
Robert Bowling (aka Four Zero Two), the community spokesman at Infinity Ward, has finally addressed the issue of an unfair advantage for gamers who already have their greasy dirty hands on a copy of Modern Warfare 2.

Robert Bowling issued a tweet on the subject;
It definitely looks like a full leaderboard / level reset is in order just before the release date to ensure no unfair advantages.
With reference to a question asked about those who have illegally downloaded the game and played online:
They’re listed on the leaderboards. Logging online with a modded Xbox is like sewing a big red scarlet letter on yourself.
Also to make UK gamers aware that there is a Postal Strike on 9th November, the day before Modern Warfare 2 release. Please check with your online retailer if your delivery will be affected in anyway. Both GameStation and GAME are offering free courier upgrades for online orders before November 7th so that you will be guaranteed yor copy on release day.
Modern Warfare 2 will be released worldwide on Noveber 10th 2009. You can also follow Xboxic on twitter here.

I don’t get it, MS uses the ban hammer quite often, I guess they can detect pirates. How come so many people are able to play pirated copies without being caught?
So for the pirate the only option is to wait when the game is officially released to avoid detection?
No its just a technological problem where the console can detect its not a legit disc because of security exploits. I think the ones that dont get caught - dont take the game online. You are only caught when you play online.
These are not pirates. These are people who got legit copies from stores that broke street date.
Who cares if their legit or not. I think it’s a great idea and MS should make it a mandatory rule to reset the leaderboards on lunch day for every game.
lunch day LOL…. dont you just hate typos thats it always in the wrong places!!
Ha Ha, I has food on the Brain!!!
Lunch day is the best time of the day!
It’s unfortunate that lunch day only comes once a year, though. I’m hungry. :(
