New Adidas Live Season announced for FIFA 09
To boost up interest in its upcoming FIFA 09, Electronic Arts has announced that this year’s FIFA iteration will introduce a new premium service called Adidas Live Season that will dynamically update player form in-game on a weekly basis so that player attributes reflect real-world performances. Also, a pre-release demo has been confirmed to release in the Playstation Store on September 11.
Adidas Live Season will be a paid-for service (subscription costs yet to be revealed) that will work for Barclay’s Premier League, La Liga BBVA, Ligue 1, Bundesliga, Serie A and Mexican Primera Division, however, players will be able to try it out by selecting one of the leagues and have the service weekly update player attributes for free from the time they activate it to the end of the 2008-2009 season.
Said Andrew Wilson, Vice President & Executive Producer for the franchise:
“This is an ambitious and completely unique feature that has never been attempted before for football videogames. The game will feel and play differently each week. With adidas Live Season if Ronaldinho has a great match on the weekend you’ll feel the difference when you pick up the controller as his in-game attributes increase.”
As said before, a demo for FIFA 09 will be made available in the Playstation Store on September 11, followed by the game’s retail release sometime in October.
