Rock Band to get The Who DLC July 17
The Who downloadable content was one of the main highlights of EA’s DLC plans for Rock Band, and though the game’s been sitting on store shelves for seven months now, the anticipated downloadable songs are still nowhere to been seen on the Playstation Network. That will change on July 17, when The Who DLC is finally set to be added to the repertoire.
In the official announcement of Rock Band 2 yesterday, details on The Who DLC laid hidden among the information on the sequel, stating that fans should look out for July 17, as that’s when 12 tracks from the Godfathers of Punk are expected to become available on the PSN for $1.99 individually or $19.99 together. Anyone who can count to 15 will notice that the number of expected tracks is not the entirety of Who’s Next album and that’s because it’s a compilation of songs. Harmonix co-founder and CEO Alex Rigopulos explained why that is the case:
“Their music really comes alive when you’re playing it. We were trying to release ‘Who’s Next’ in its entirety, but we were unable to locate all the masters. So in the face of that, Pete (Townshend) and Roger (Daltrey) helped curate this best-of soundtrack of everything we were able to find.”
Will you be able to sit tight for two more weeks?
