Two new Xbox Originals coming next week
Fans of the original Xbox games and those who wish to try out some more titles of yesteryear listen up – next Monday, May 19th, Aspyr’s Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel without a Pulse and Midway’s Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows will be added to the Xbox Originals library, each for 1200 Microsoft Points.
Stubbs the Zombie is a third-person zombie game which released on the Xbox in October 2005 in North America and February 2006 in Europe. Contrary to most other zombie games, Stubbs the Zombie lets the player take control of, well, a zombie who is unable to use traditional weapons such as guns due to his zombie state and is instead armed with improvised weapons like his hand, pancreas, and even his head.
Features
- Be the zombie: Play as Stubbs the Zombie and conquer the retro-futuristic city of Punchbowl.
- Possess the living: Use any weapon in the game—machine gun, bazooka, sniper rifle, and more, by clamping your severed hand onto the gunman’s head.
- Build a zombie horde: Convert your enemies into undead allies and lead a zombie assault upon the living.
- Use your body as a weapon: Hurl gut grenades, spit zombie sputum, and unleash unholy flatulence to bring down your foes.
Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows is a re-imagining of the old arcade classic Gauntlet that came out on Microsoft’s first console in December 2005. The game combines the elements of fantasy fighting action and strategic RPG collecting and customization, as well as gives players the choice of teaming up with their friends for some multiplayer hack and slash action.
Features
- New fighting system: Experience easy pick-up-and-play with deeper choices for more advanced players.
- Online RPG and collection elements: Enjoy significant replay value.
- Online multiplayer action: Live the adventure online for the first time ever.
- Co-op play: Team up in a world filled with ancient splendor and action.
- Intense combat: Hack, slash, and combo your way through fierce battles and spectacular levels.
Anyone planning on getting either of these?

Never heard of either of these.
Where have been then?
you* been
Stubbs was a good game. Cool stuff.
Stubbs is a quality game. You must get it. It’s hilarious. The 50’s satire is spot on. And it’s a must for zombie/gore fans.
Nope….not getting either.
Stubbs rocks. Hilarious game too. Shame I already own it on the original Xbox. :S As for Gauntlet, erm… I’ll pass lol.
Sweet. i always wanted to get stubbs.
I’d rather see Grabbed by the Ghoulies or whatever it was called.
That game was weird.
didnt think much of stubbs, fun for a little bit but not amazing. shame since it was made by one of the original halos designers, just doesnt keep you interested. coop rpg sounds ok, but all these originals are dumb- unless you have an elite and have cash coming out your anus.
Wow, I was just thinking of Stubbs the other day.
When is Sony going to have downloadable PS2 games? Microsoft stole their thunder yet again!
Don’t hold your breath for that one. Sony have been behind every step of the way for the last two years, minimum. Can’t see them ever taking that crown back.
Loved stubbs, one of the funniest games I played.
