Electronic Arts’ skateboard wonder child, skate., raised the bar in the extreme sports genre when it released for the Playstation 3 in October last year, even going as far as waking up Activision from the long slumber. With that said, it’s no wonder then that a Skate sequel is underway for the PS3 and Xbox 360.

Tucked away at the end of EA’s press release for Skate It, the series’ first venture onto the Wii and Nintendo DS, there laid the official confirmation for Skate 2:

“Separately, Skate 2 is also currently in development for the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and the Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system.”

That is all that was said with regard to the Skate sequel, so we’ll have to wait a bit more before EA reveals what new features it will be bringing to the table for the series’ return to the PS3 and 360.
