Assault Heroes 2 marches onto XBLA this Wednesday
As was the case last week, Microsoft has revealed that only one title is headed to the Xbox Live Arcade this Wednesday, albeit one that will surely entice many Arcade fans. Hitting the download service this week for 800 Microsoft Points will be Assault Heroes 2, the sequel to one of 2006’s most memorable XBLA titles.
It’s as clear as day that Sierra Online’s main objective with the follow-up was to one-up the original and release an even more packed fast-paced shooter for the Arcade. In addition to more powerful weaponry, the chance to hi-jack even more enemy units and the new dodge roll feature when fighting on-foot, the sequel boasts even bigger bosses than before and improved co-operative play over Xbox Live.
Features
- Enhanced multiplayer co-op: Quickly activate improved cooperative weapons to rain destruction on hordes of bazooka soldiers, kamikaze bombers, and more.
- Hijackable enemy units: Steal the attack helicopter, armored tank, or mechanical walker from the enemy base for surprise attacks.
- More powerful weaponry: Utilize a superior arsenal of weapons including the newly designed sub-zero freezing ice cannon, homing missiles, rocket launcher, and upgraded firearms from the original.
- Frantic on-foot action: Survive on-foot warfare while equipped with all your weapons in expansive underground areas.
- Monstrous bosses: Face off against challenging mechanoid beasts before they destroy you.
- New diverse and interactive environments: Blast through the Snowy Mountains, Rainforest and Outer Space with extensive destructible terrain from burning trees to shattering buildings.

I think so. Assault Heroes is still good and gets played at our house. With the hijacking and on foot sections it may be a good one.
It looks more interesting than the first one, visually improved also.
The visuals were quite nice in the original - certainly a cut above most of the content on Live Arcade.
Any improvements are icing on an already nice cake!
Old skool gameplay. Meh!
And trying to get an online connection to remain open in AH1 was diabolical. I’ll likely pass on this one unless the trial can offer up anything worthy in the sequel. Hopefully, they’ve fixed the online glitches at least.
I am buying this at once. One of the best small games on XBLA. For sure.
