Nintendo promises big announcements at E3 Expo
With a bumper first half of the year confirmed thanks to the likes of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Wii Fit and Mario Kart Wii, all eyes are on Nintendo and what exactly they have planned for the final six months of 2008. In a recent interview with GameTrailersTV, Nintendo of America president, Reggie Fils-Aime revealed that this year’s E3 Expo is where the firm will lift the wraps off everything.
The following is a transcription of the GTTV interview with Fils-Aimes, in which the charismatic boss hints at the big announcements that Nintendo has up its sleeve for the coming months, both for the traditional and the casual gamer.
Geoff: I have to wait til July??
Reggie: We’re gonna unveil the whole second half during E3, I mean come on there’s more than enough to get people excited.
Geoff: Is there a new Mario, new Zelda? We gonna see any of that stuff this year?
Reggie: I’ll tell you this, we’re gonna have great new content maximizing all of our key franchises. It’s gonna be a good second half. There’s gonna be a big game for the holidays that the gamers will want.
Geoff: We know nothing about it, it’s a total secret right now?
Reggie: All I can tell you is what we announce during E3 is going to be fantastic. The gamer’s gonna be excited, and the expanded audience is going to be excited. We’re gonna have a ton of great content. There’s really-
Geoff: Donkey Kong coming back, what can we see?
Reggie: You know, I’m not gonna go there.

Super Smash Bros. DS? (please, oh please!)
A new Donkey Kong Country game?
A new Legend of Zelda game?
Wii Sports 2?
Brain Age for the Wii? (ha ha ha!)
Tomb Raider: Underworld, James Bond: Quantum of Solace, or Call of Duty 5 as the big game? Although all three games are already announced and people won’t be surprised by their release. Maybe a Star Fox game for the Wii? I don’t really know any hidden big game that’ll be wanted by EVERYONE.
Of course its Kid Icarus!
Only Hardcore Ninty fans know this game and its gonna be GREAT!
Probably evtl. Donkey Kong Wii but without Rare i cant imange it being any good….
Or a New Retro IP ?
