PGR 4 DLC coming next week

Project Gotham Racing fans looking forward to relive the fun of chasing down “slow mouse” vehicles in the fourth installment won’t have to wait much longer, as Bizarre Creations has today announced that two downloadable content packs are scheduled to race onto the Xbox Live Marketplace on Valentine’s Day.

The first DLC offering, titled Free Challenge Pack, includes the hydrogen-powered 2007 Peugeot Flux, winner of the 2007 Peugeot International Design Competition, the long-promised Free Roam Cat & Mouse Mode, and Tourist Mode which allows players to check out sights and fool around an open city. As suggested by its name, the pack will be available free of charge.

Coming in at the premium price of 400 MSP, the Premium Challenge Pack includes all the freebie content, as well as a new World Challenge Arcade Mode, which adds 20 arcade events in 3 themed chapters, and the following nine new vehicles:

Cars

  • 2008 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible Concept
  • 2007 Volkswagen Golf GTI W12-650
  • 1987 BMW M3 E30 DTM
  • 2007 Ferrari 430 Scuderia
  • 2008 Honda S2000 CR
  • 2008 Callaway C16 Speedster

Bikes

  • 2007 Yamaha YZF-R1
  • 1995 Aprilia RS 250
  • 1998 Aprilia RSV 1000 Tuono R

Both packs will also add ten new Achievements, three of which are exclusive to the Premium Challenge Pack. Last but not least, players will be able to try out a new (returning) feature, called TV Cameras, which allows you to drive around while viewing the action from the trackside cameras.

For more information on the upcoming DLC, including details on the ten new achievements, check out the official announcement on Bizarre’s website.

I tried the demo. I liked it and decided I want the game. Had fun playing it so far but I love racing games anyway.

This game was a huge disappointment (for me)im supprised people still play it! the biggest let down had to be the visuals. Just terrible (i thought). They should have stuck to the cars, they “mass-produced” this title to make a quick buck off the other 3’s success and well its just poo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PGR2 was awesome…PGR3 was meh….PGR4 didn’t merit a purchase.

FM2 is the only game for racing, IMO

Comment by BleedingEyes on 2008-02-11 09:53:15

PGR2 was awesome but still you think that FM2 is the only racing-game?

Well, I feel that PGR and FM are in a completely different league and cannot be compared. I agree, PGR4 isn’t the best of the series but it might post a challenge for the average driver to complete the game 1000G.

Guess I’m gonna get DLC anyway, always up for a challenge on Platinum although I fear I will be done with the tracks in a few hours.

Meh…played the demo, watched a friend play the full version. Shrugged and went back to playing DiRT. PGR4 holds no interest for me.

Netflix Drops HD DVD, Will Only Carry Blu-ray
Source: Netflix February 11, 2008

Netflix is the latest company to drop HD DVD and back the Blu-ray Disc format. Here is company’s release from today:

With the industry now having picked a winner in the face-off between the two competing high- definition DVD formats, Netflix, Inc., the world’s largest online movie rental service, today said that it will move toward stocking high-def DVDs exclusively in the Blu-ray format.

Citing the decision by four of the six major movie studios to publish high-def DVD titles only in the Sony-developed Blu-ray format, Netflix said that as of now it will purchase only Blu-ray discs and will phase out by roughly year’s end the alternative high-def format, HD DVD, developed by Toshiba.

I think what you want to do is get a grip and stay on subject.
